Superintendent Dr. Dewayne Wilkins
Dr. Wilkins was named Superintendent of Schools for Early Independent School District in July 2020. He comes to Early from having served as Superintendent of Gordon ISD from 2018-2020. He served as principal of Andrews Middle School in Andrews ISD and an assistant principal at Andrews Middle School. Additionally, Wilkins served as teacher/coach at Eagle Mountain ISD, Saginaw ISD, and Tolar ISD.
Wilkins earned a Bachelor's of Science from University of Phoenix, a Master's of Educational Administration from Lamar University, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. Wilkins has certifications as a Superintendent, mid-management administration, and 4-8 Generalist, and 6-12 Health.
Dr. Wilkins and his wife, Katie, have two children - Johnna and Brayson. Dr. Wilkins' mission is to maintain and grow a rigorous teaching and learning environment that provides every student with a sense of belonging while helping students grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. It is critical to every student’s success that they graduate from high school with the skills necessary to pursue and achieve their goals and dreams. Students will only be able to achieve these goals if we work together as a team.
