Football has reached the half way point of the season and district starts in a week.  Volleyball is well into their district campaign.  Students are into a routine and school is going strong.

I am here to tell anybody who will listen—Early schools have the best staff members and the best kids I have ever been a part of in my career.  I cannot heap enough praise on our schools in Early and this community should be proud!!

October is a busy month.  I do not know how it could be any busier than it has already been but October is busting at the seams with activities.  Football is in district play, volleyball continues with district play, band has their festival and marching contest, robotics has a big competition, and the everyday business of school continues.  Don’t let me forget our community play also.  Add Halloween to top off the month and we are full of busy days.

At the time of this letter we also had Ag. Kids going to State Fair to compete.

I look forward to coming to school everyday!  Why?  The staff and the kids.  This is the greatest gig a person could ever find.  Where else can you work and see success happen every day.  Yes we have some issues come up but overall, we enjoy success like no where else.

Kids are back and I love it!!!  As much as parents celebrate kids returning to school, I celebrate the return of kids and the excitement of a new school year.  Much planning goes into every year and it makes me feel good when it all comes together.  Volleyball is going strong and football begins their season this Friday.

We are beginning the year with our first pep rally.  The pep rally will be at Longhorn stadium at 10 Friday morning.  The entire district will be in attendance to cheer on the football boys and volleyball girls as well as cross country runners.  We will also proudly display the band and our Belles and cheerleaders.

School has started off on a very upbeat and positive note.  Mrs. Bearden, Mrs. Prochaska and I talked to each of the classes.  I introduced myself and spoke of our expectations.  Mrs. Bearden spoke of academics and their importance.  She also discussed emails from her and staying on top of their required coursework.  Mrs. Prochaska discussed dress code and procedures for all students.

Staff and students are working hard and many great things are happening.  Smiles are plentiful, attitudes are respectful and success is everywhere.

We look forward to many great successes both academically and competitively.  Early High School is off to a banner start and I fully expect we will finish stronger than ever.

It is a privilege to be the Principal of Early High School.  I am thankful everyday to come to work and lead a great team of students and teachers.

This phrase says it all for me as an educator. If you can dream it, why not accomplish it! It can be anything. I love my career and have for 29 years. Frustration, excitement, stress, celebration, and joy. All of these words describe the everyday life of an educator. I love what I do and love that I can have an influence on America and our future.

I come to Early High School with anticipation of great things happening for Early High School. I cannot find the words to describe my excitement to in Early and especially being the Principal of Early High School. My two years at the middle school were nothing short of amazing and wonderful. A great staff, who made a person smile every day coming to work (all of a 90 second trip). Great kids who care about their education but who also are just fun to be around and amazing people. I joke of my long commute because while working in Garland and living in Kennedale I commuted 90 minutes one way every day for 16 years. Three hours spent wasting away behind the steering wheel. Now I have an extra three hours every day to enjoy life with my wife.

NOW, on to a new setting with those same wonderful students. I am very impressed with the high school staff that I know and the ones I have just met. I look forward to enjoying my days at the High School just as much. I anticipate still smiling with my long commute to school (now 2 minutes) and continuing to sing the praises of Early schools as much as ever.

The start of school is just around the corner and kids are coming back slowly for the start of Belles, Band, Volleyball and Football. Pretty soon we will have all teachers on campus. New teachers start back August 14 and the rest of the staff joins them August 15. The actual first day of school is August 28. Time is flying and it will be here before we know it.

Look at our calendar for dates and times of registration and schedule pick up. I am truly looking forward to my time at Early High School.
