Middle School Band Director

Campus:· Early Middle School
Application Deadline: Until filled

Duties: Primary teacher of record and director of the middle school 6th grade Beginning Band and the 7th/8th grade Advanced Band. Assist the head director of the high school band. 

Description: Vertically align rehearsal standard, teaching styles, rehearsal priorities, ensembe fundaments etc with the high school director. Monitor and assess student performance by way of regular and scheduled individual help sessions.  Be accessible to students and parents. Employ strong classroom management skills and interpersonal relationship skills.

High or low brass pecialist preferred, but all qualified applicants will be considered.

Instructional Aide

Campus:· Early Primary School

Duties: Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.

Description:
1. Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
2. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
3. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
4. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
5. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
6. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
7. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
8. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
9. Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
10. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
11. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.

Special requirements:
Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to operate standard office equipment (copiers, computers, ect.)
Ability to perform regular light lifting (usually less than 15 lbs)
Ability to work inside & outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold and inclement weather); exposure to noise
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain control under stress

Family Engagement Specialist (FES)

21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant for Afterschool Centers for Education (ACE)
 
Qualifications:  Bachelors in education or related field; strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills; familiar with the community/support agencies; adaptable to the needs of the families; work flexible hours; 3 years experience working in an education, social service, or family support setting with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds and effective parenting techniques; ability to communicate in native language(s) of program recipients preferred
 
Hours:  20 hours per week
 
Pay: $20,000 per year
