Editing pictures, getting prints and sharing photos online is made simple with Snapfish.

Now you need to choose the pics you want to upload.

Click the little drop-down arrow next to the
box that says "Look in:"
and browse to the place
that you saved your pics.
Hint: some newer computers will let you browse
straight to your camera!

Click a check next to each pic you want to upload
(or choose select all), then click "upload selected photos".

It will run for a while uploading the pics
(how long it takes depends on how many pics and your Internet connection).

STEP 3: EDIT & ORGANIZE YOUR ALBUM

At the far right of the page, you will see the "things you can do" toolbar.

Click on the title of what you want to do to open up more options. For instance, if you need to edit some pictures just click on "edit & organize".

Almost any kind of editing you could need is right at your mouse-click!

When you have finished editing and organizing your
photo album just the way you like it, then it is time
to get prints and share your pictures.

STEP 4: CREATE!

One of the neat things about Snapfish is that all the NEAT-O fun stuff you can get with your pictures right on them!!

Using the "create"section on the things you can do toolbar, you can use your own pictures to make unique gifts, cards and stationary, even photo books of your album!

HINT: if you are going to make a photo book, make sure to add captions to each pic in "edit & organize".

STEP 5: GET PRINTS

Ordering prints in Snapfish is a breeze. What’s extra cool is that you can even order prints from a shared album (pics that someone else shared with you).

There are several options for ordering your prints. NOTICE: don’t get too excited about the "print at home" option – you still have to pay!

Ordered prints are usually shipped within a day or two.

NEED 1-HOUR PICKUP?? Create an account at www.walmart.com and upload your photos there. It works just like Snapfish and you can have them done and picked-up in an hour!

STEP 6: SHARING YOUR PHOTOS

The best thing about using Snapfish is the ability to share your photos with others. This allows others to not only see your shared photos, but to also order prints for themselves.
Sharing is easy.

Just click on the "share…" option from the things you can do toolbar.
Enter the e-mail addresses of people you want to share your album with (you can even look up names in your address book if you have outlook set up).
Add your own personal message and send it on!

EXTRAS: TRICKS OF THE TRADE

Here are a couple of tricks to use for your web page.

Trick #1: Adding a link on your webpage to your Snapfish photo album

Using the "share" option, send the email to yourself.

When it arrives in your inbox, look at the very bottom of the page. You will see a VERY long link (starting with http and ending with SALB).

You can use this link to create a "Click here to view our photo album" link on your web page.

If you are using SchoolRack teacher pages, click here to see how to make links.
If you are using Dreamweaver, click here to see how to make links.

Turn this mile-long web address into an easy click&go link on your webpage like this:

Click here to view our photo album!

Trick #2: Adding a "web-ready" picture to your website

When you add a picture to your website, you've got to be sure that it is web-ready (the big word is "optimized").
That just means that you have a picture that looks nice, but will also download fast (so your viewer won't have to go get a beverage, prepare a 7-course meal and watch an entire epsiode of Grey's Anantomy while waiting for your web page to load!)

Step 1 : Upload your pics to Snapfish or walmart.com. Do all your fixing/editing.
Don't ever put a picture on your website that came straight off the digital camera.
Camera pics are ready to be printed, and print-worthy pic files are NOT web-ready.

Step 2: Save the picture you want back to your computer.
Simply right-click on the larger version of your pic (not the itty-bitty one) and choose "Save Picture As".

Save it somewhere on your computer. Remember where you saved it, because you will need that info when you upload to your website.

Then, just go to your web page and insert the pic where you want it.
Don't remember how? Click here for a refresher course in uploading and adding pics in SchoolRack.
