Now you are ready to start
your web page. No, really -- you are. It's easy. Type in
"Thank you for visiting my web page" in the body of the file.
After you have added a little
to the body and given your page a title, go ahead and save it. Just
go to File, Save As. Browse to your web folder (DW
Basics for this tutorial) and save the file as index.htm.
Now, let's jazz up that boring
type a little. Select (highlight)
"Thank you for visiting my web page". Look in the Properties
window at the bottom of your screen and find Size.
Click the little down-arrow and choose 4. Your font
will get a little larger. You will get the Page
Properties Window that will let you add all kinds of pizzazz
to your page! Your page title
will be there (here's a chance to put one in if you've forgotten).
You can put in a Background Image (we'll do this
in the "adding pictures"
section). You can also choose colors for the Background,
Text, Links, Visited Links, and Active Links. {You can set margins
and some other things, but we're keeping it simple right now.} Use the colors boxes
(shown on the image above) to create your color scheme and
click OK. Now that I've chatted your
ears off {I am blonde, remember} try out some of these tips
by typing in the rest of the new web page as it is shown in the pic
above (feel free to use some artistic license).
