Audacity: Free & Easy Audio Editing
This tutorial will walk you through the basics of Audacity, a free, open source
audio editor that allows anyone to quickly and easily record and edit sound
files. Audacity is developed by a group of volunteers working through
SourceForge
and distributed under the
GNU
General Public License (GPL) .
You can use Audacity to:
- make your own "books on CD" to enhance reading,
- capture voice and music clips from CD's, DVD's and radio,
- mix music and/or voice for PowerPoint presentations,
- create oral tests and record student responses,
- record podcasts,
- exercise your students' (and your own) imagination!
To get started using Audacity, you'll need to download and install the program.
