Audacity: Free & Easy Audio Editing

This tutorial will walk you through the basics of Audacity, a free, open source audio editor that allows anyone to quickly and easily record and edit sound files. Audacity is developed by a group of volunteers working through SourceForge and distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) .
You can use Audacity to:

• make your own "books on CD" to enhance reading,
• capture voice and music clips from CD's, DVD's and radio,
• mix music and/or voice for PowerPoint presentations,
• create oral tests and record student responses,
• record podcasts,
• exercise your students' (and your own) imagination!

To get started using Audacity, you'll need to download and install the program.
