"Come with me now through time and mind, for the past beckons to be known.  And the future, crouched like a panther on the bough of a tree, waits to see if we . . . if we have truly grown while it growls impatiently."    - - - White Deer of Autumn

    American Literature

Welcome to an exciting and busy junior year!  This is truly the year of the tests!  I know you're thinking every year is, but this year we add in college entrance exams.  So now, besides the crucial TAKS, you need to take the PSAT, the ACT and/or the SAT.  We'll cover a wide variety of literature beginning with the earliest of native-American writings. Grammar and writing skills will continue to be emphasized along with reading.

Your novel list includes:

  • The Crucible
  • The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
  • Fahrenheit 451
  • Inherit the Wind

Region 15
